Text people a reminder before their court date

To: County Judge Allen Dodson and the Faulkner County Quorum Court (13 justices of the peace)

Many missed court dates are simple forgetting — and a missed date can mean a warrant, an arrest and days in jail. In New York City, text reminders and a clearer court notice cut missed court dates by 21–26% in a randomized study, at very low cost. We ask Faulkner County's courts and clerk to text reminders before every court date.

When it reaches the goal it’s handed to the officials named above at a public meeting, and their answer is posted online. This is a petition to your elected officials — like the clipboard at the courthouse door. It does not put anything on the ballot; in Arkansas and most states that takes ink signatures from registered voters. Names are never shown publicly.
